Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves

Our history has always placed an inordinate burden on women. and up until the 70s when the contraception pill put the backstreet abortionist out of work  and freed women from the danger of repeated cycles of pregnancy and childbirth now things arguably not much better. Now women often not only have responsibility for the family; feeding and cleaning, housework, childcare love and help with education and are expected to work in a society not geared for all their responsibilities. Kids get sick,  there may be elderly parents needing help, and someone has to be in for the man to fix the washing machine! Responsibilities piled on and on when sometimes they are the only breadwinner with just a part-time income.

However there may be light at the end of the tunnel with some modern work practices.

While it may not be for everyone, the large presence of women in this once male-dominated world simply means that there are far more options today than there were 50+ years ago.
